    去年在东莞市第四届英语口语大赛决赛上，来自常平振兴中学的陈晓易同学以流畅、地道的口语及出色的临场发挥征服了全体评委，最终荣获初中组一等奖和“最佳语音奖”。

    说起学习英语的方法，陈晓易表示，首先要明确自己学习英语的目的，然后遵循由简入繁、由易到难的原则一步一步学习，最后一步是开口说英语。由于在莞的外国人不像广州、深圳那么多，日常生活中和外国人交流的机会不多。陈晓易练习口语的秘诀是：和镜子里的自己对话。除此之外，她还会将自己的语音录下来放在电脑上反复听，认认真真地找出自己发音的问题，加以纠正。

    现将陈晓易总结的英语学习经验文章全文刊登如下, 以飨网友。

    My English Study Method

    I'm honored to introduce my English study method here to all of you.

    Firstly, you have to know exactly what you want from English. For example, do you know MJ? I like MJ, he brought up my interest in English. Frankly, I was young and wasn't so wise, I wanted to sing as well as MJ, I wanted to be a rockstar, and I wanted to be famous all over the world. Sometimes when I am sick and tired of the whole English learning thing, he's the strength that kept me going, it may be hard for you to believe, but it's true. So my point is that, try to find yourself an idol which can keep you going.

    When you can't find yourself an idol, you don’t like the singers or the actors or the IT dudes, are you done? Nope, you still have one thing that keep will absolutely keep you going, that is, your grades. But don’t take it as a torture, take it as a mission, take it as something you have to finish in a game, just to get to the next level, the difference is that it’s not an online game, it’s a game everyone has to play, whether you like it or not, it’s a game named “life”. English actually helps a lot in the future, believe it or not, it’s true. And I’m sure that you do not want to regret for what you haven’t done when you grow up and complain about why you can’t find a good job.

   There, you found your purpose of studying English. So, what now? It’s a bit easier now that you know what you want from English, now go ahead, start learning! It’s now or NEVER!!

    You can start with some simple ways, you can start with your English text book, I know it’s boring, but it’s the river that you have to cross. Listen to the tape, at least once in a day. I know some of you might keep listening to English every now and then, and maybe some of you might keep watching English movies, but you didn’t make a lot of progresses, do you know why? Because they talk really fast in the movies, and singing is different from speaking. You can take them as something that you do when you’re down or something. But it’s not the major way of learning English. It’s NOT!! I know that because I suffered a lot at the beginning.

    When you can speak just like the person in the tape, what do you do? Give yourself some challenge, maybe some tests or something, see if you need to re-do this step again, or go straight to next step.

    By next step, I mean, watch some English movies, or television shows. I recommend television shows, because it’s easier for people to become addicted in television shows, on the other hand, movies might keep you interested in English for a little while, but not for long， because the movies are like 2 hours top, but the televisions shows are much longer than movies, I recommend you to watch “Friends” the Chinese name for it is “老友记”, I think most of you have heard of it. It’s famous all over the world. It’s funny and it isn’t hard to understand, even just for beginners.

    Okay, now there’s only one step left. That is, speak. I noticed that we don’t have many foreigners around, it’s not as prosper as some of the big cities, like Shenzhen and Guangzhou. What do you do? That’s quite easy for me actually, I talk to myself, whenever I see myself in the mirrors, I start talking to myself in English. You can tell yourself that you’re beautiful, you’re pretty, you’re smart and you’re the brightest person in the world, no one cares, because no one understands. So why not? They might just take you as a psychopath, but who cares? They don’t even know you. Stop worrying and start living for yourself!

    If you don’t like the mirrors, there’re many other ways, and one of them, the one that helped me the most is recording my voice on my computer, and re-hear it, so I can tell how I did it, and where I did wrong, it’s perfect, isn’t it? Well, if you’ve gotten a computer, then it really is perfect. You can even do it for fun when you’re bored. And if you see a foreigner on the street, or simply just anywhere, try to say “hi”. It’s the best way to begin a conversation, because it always works. So keep that in mind, the more you spend on speaking, the more progress you will make in English studying, because after all, English is just another language, and if you gonna master it, you gonna talk, right?

    So stop hesitating, let’s learn English together! If you take it as your enemy, tell yourself that “Get it before it gets me.”
